Out of WA Scores
WA Scores (Updated) Plaques and Salmon Awards The 2009 Washington Salmon Run, held September 19th and 20th, featured good band conditions and lots of activity on 80/75, 40, and 20 meters. A record 269 logs were received, 91 from Washington state stations and a whopping 178 from out of state, including 7 from Canada and 12 from DX stations. Entries were received from 41 states, 4 VE provinces, and 9 DX entities. Washington state entries represented 36 of the 39 counties (Pend Orielle, Skamania, and Mason may be hot candidates for expeditions in 2010!). Several Rookies, new to ham radio or new to the Salmon Run, provided many contacts this year. Out of Washington Results:

Washington Results: The Washington Top Ten is headed by N7PP, the third year they have made the Top Score. This year they operated portable from Columbia County with six operators, generators, and two stations with K3 transceivers and amplifiers. Each station had a 2-element SteppIR on a surplus AB-577 50 ft. tower plus dipoles for the low bands. W7PRC, operating from N9ADG’s QTH, came in a close second. K7QQ was Top Single Operator with more CW QSOs than N7PP! K7OX led the Low Power entries with an excellent score from Spokane County. W7FLY led the Multi-Op Single Transmitter and Washington Club entries. W7QC/7 had the Top Score in the Single Operator Expedition category. In the Roving category, NU7J led the Multi-Ops and W7AML was the Single Operator winner. W7WMO ran up the Top Mobile score from the central part of the state, AD7T was Top YL and KX7L was Top QRP. KD7JGI was Rookie of the Year in 2009, making the Top Single Operator score from Island County. We had a great group of rookies in 2009, and want to encourage their continued interest in the Salmon Run! 2009 Washington Salmon Run - Washington Top Ten | | | | | | | | CALL | CLASS | CAT | PWR | MODE | QTH | SCORE | N7PP | MO-2T | EXP | HIGH | MIXED | COL | 699508 | W7PRC | MULTI | UNLIM | HIGH | MIXED | KING | 599504 | K7QQ | SINGLE-OP | | HIGH | CW | KITS | 367244 | K7OX | SINGLE-OP | | LOW | MIXED | SPO | 261236 | W7FLY | MO-ST | WA CLUB | | MIXED | ISL | 249790 | K7INA | SINGLE-OP | | LOW | MIXED | CLAL | 216798 | W7NNN | SINGLE-OP | | HIGH | PHONE | KITS | 175112 | W7PU | MO-ST | EXP | | MIXED | GRAY | 171580 | WX7P | SINGLE-OP | | LOW | MIXED | STE | 171360 | W7QC/7 | SINGLE-OP | EXP | LOW | CW | KITT | 164020 |
The Western Washington DX Club station, W7DX, was operated from Clark County by KT7G, N7WO, W7ABC, K7CAD, K7JAO, and KD7KWO. They were in many logs providing valuable Bonus points. We look forward to improving band conditions in years to come and increased interest and activity from hams in Washington state. The two ARRL Section Managers, K7CEX in WWA and KB7HDX in EWA, have been a great help getting the word out. We are encouraged by increased activity from club stations, and we’ll work on getting more Mobiles, Rovers, and Expeditions out to those rare counties! Certificates will be sent to all participants – thanks to KQ7W for the design of this year’s Salmon Run certificate. The Western Washington DX Club and the Salmon Run Committee thank every participant for their interest in the Washington Salmon Run. We hope to see you in the next Salmon Run the weekend of September 18-19, 2010 and years to come! The 2009 Washington Salmon Run Committee: K7WA, NG7Z, N9ADG, WAØRJY, NØAX, KQ7W
