WWDXC BOARD MEETING
May 24th 2010 7pm Group Health Hospital
Adam K7EDX opened the meeting at 7:16pm. Present were Denny W7SNH, Marina
N7LSL, Paul NG7Z, Dick K7BTW, Joe W7QN, Elsie N7YX and Kirk N7UK
. Review/approve minutes
The April minutes were approved by a voice vote
. Correspondence
E-mail from N1DG Don Greenbaum requesting funding for a Microlite DXpedition
to VP8O (S. Orkneys). It is #61 on the west coast most wanted list and is
eligible for a $50 donation. Ward N0AX and Mike N6MZ will be among the
operators so the board approved $250.
E-mail received from Rusty W6OAT thanking the club for the $1000 donation to
the 2010 WRTC. The letter will be posted in the next Totem Tabloid.
. Treasurer's report
The April report was approved. Tax returns for the past three years needed
to be filed due to a change in the IRS rules. Don Walters prepared and sent
them to the IRS prior to the May 15th deadline.
. Membership
No report given. Jim K7WA is away.
. Old business
Paul (NG7Z) will be taking over the responsibility for the DynDNS Service
Renewal for the "Domain Name W7DX.net" for the club. The telnet equipment
(data radio and two TNCs) will be priced and sold.
The remaining items of the K6QB estate that have value will be inventoried
and either brought to the dinner meetings as raffle prizes or sold. The rest
will be thrown away.
. New Business
There was an extended discussion regarding the status and future of the
WWDXC voice spot 2 meter DX node. Adam will contact Norm W7LFA and attempt
to resolve the voice spots overriding the input of the 147.200mhz repeater.
There seems to be a problem with the club reflector. Jack Fleming has been
contacted and Adam will contact Brian N9ADG. (Note: as of the morning of May
25th, the reflector seems to be working OK)
. Special events status
No one has volunteered to chair a WWDXC Field Day event so there will not be
a club sponsored Field Day this year. Kirk pointed out that the ARRL web
site has a Field Day locator.
. Monthly dinner/meeting program for April
The June meeting program will be given by Ben McLeod W4BCN on the Boeing
"fly by wire" flight controls.
Meeting adjourned at 8:36
