Software Defined Radio (SDR) has taken over the industry and yielded fantastic improvement to Amateur Radio rigs…but…do we know HOW to leverage these new tools?

Join us at our October 13th meeting at 7pm, when ARRL Hudson Division Director Ria Jairam/N2RJ will discuss “SDR and its impact on DXing”.

Ria Jairam, N2RJ started off as a shortwave listener at the age of 5. She obtained her amateur radio license in 1997 in Trinidad and Tobago and in the USA since 2001. She counts as her mentors, Tony Lee-Mack, 9Y4AL(SK) and Steve Mendelsohn, W2ML (SK). Her major interests are contesting, DXing and software defined radios. She has been active in the SDR and FlexRadio community helping countless hams with their software defined radios. Professionally she is a senior systems engineer, Assistant VP in the financial industry and a video producer at her church. She is an alumna of the NYU Tandon School of Engineering where she did her BSEE. She serves as the current Director of the Hudson Division of the ARRL and District 2 Chair of YLRL.
