WWDXC Board Meeting Minutes – July 1, 2025
1. Meeting called to order by Rob, N7QT, at 7:02 p.m. In attendance were Rob N7QT, Dick K7BTW, Robin WA7CPA, Dennis K7DSE, Jack N7JP, Adam K7EDX and Rusty W6OAT. Justin K5EM joined the meeting at 7:16 p.m.
2. Review/Approve Minutes: Tom, NU7J, previously distributed the Minutes of the May 27, 2025, meeting. The Board unanimously approved those Minutes.
3. Correspondence: Nothing new.
4. Treasurer’s Report: Dennis, K7DSE, reported assets of $14,319 and liabilities of $519 as of June 30, 2025. He noted that the Club had priced the cost of our upcoming picnic at exactly the same amount as the dues renewal amount, and that caused confusion because some sent payments without specifying whether it was for dues or the Summer Picnic. The Board agreed that in the future we would make those prices different. The Board unanimously approved Dennis’s report.
5. Membership report: Jack, N7JP, reported that N7KV was our only new member this cycle. Jack also said he had sent Deactivation Notices to members who had not paid dues since June, 2024. That means those members can no longer post messages on groups.io.
6. Old Business:
a. 9U1RU Donation. We’re not sure how to get a donation to the 9U1RU Burundi DXpedition given our government’s prohibition on sending money to Russians. The matter was tabled for now.
b. Salmon Run. Justin, K5EM, has activated the web site where entrants can list their operating plans. There will be separate plaques this year for single-county and multi-county expeditions. We need someone to come up with new artwork for the “clean sweep” glasses. We will postpone confirming plaque sponsorship until after the Summer Picnic.
c. PNW DX Convention. This year’s convention in Portland probably will be the last as the Spokane and BC clubs no longer want to be involved.
d. Summer Picnic. Robin, WA7CPA, reported that as of now we have about 25 paid attendees. We are hoping for at least 40, and believe we will reach that number with last minute signups. We also noted a need for transportation for club members who are uncomfortable with driving themselves.
e. K7MO’s Equipment Donation. Adam, K7EDX, said K7MO’s estate had donated a lot of equipment to WWDXC. The plan is to give WWDXC members the first opportunity to purchase what they want. Adam is working with Dave, W7UUU, to come up with fair prices. Before he goes public with anything, Adam will send the Board an itemized list of items and suggested prices to ensure we’re all in agreement.
7. New Business: There will not be regular membership meetings in either July or August because of the Summer Picnic and the PNW DX Convention.
8. Meeting Adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
Meeting Minutes respectfully submitted by Rusty, W6OAT.
